Re: Which Phantom Do You Like The Best?

Its on the list as the Tiger meet one.

How can I vote when they have not all been released? So far from the 2 that I have Ritchie and Showtime Ritchie is my number one choice

Well it WASN'T when posts 3 & 4 went up on the board, hence why I typed post No.3

Right now it's on "nil-points" as the 'Eurovisions' say

Looks like calling out the "missing-man" was a bad move, after all

For all us Ritchie fans out there...low-level scissors somewhere over "Nam.

Hey, Conemaugh, is that a Wings Over Vietnam screenshot? My recent purchase of a CW A-7 and A-6 inspired to but WOV, but I haven't loaded it yet. Are there any mods or downloads you'd recommend? Thanks!

Re: Which Phantom Do You Like The Best?

Folgore -- Yes, that screenshot is from Wings Over Vietnam (WOV). I don't want to stray too far from the post topic, but since we are here I'll give you a few pointers on WOV.

1) After loading WOV make sure you download the pacthes - there are several. Be careful to download them in the correct order or you will be uninstalling the game and starting over.

2) Make a point to donwload the modifications from Yankee Air Pirate. YAP adds planes, weapons, and historic missions to WOV that make the whole gaming expierence more enjoyable. YAP is not a simple add-on but enhances the game. YAP missions sets come in batches of 10 (100 total new missions), but you have to download the first set to get all the program mods for the rest of the batches.

YAP downloads require some patience, though. And you have to be careful how you manually donwload the files. That's right, no automatic installer!!

I should menttion that YAP may be upgrading the download process, I did have trouble with mission set 81-90. And e-mails to the designer have not been answered. They are usually very quick with answers - so be warned.

3) Get a good joystick with multi-function programmable buttons. Trsust me on this one. Although I don't have one, a separate throttle control would be helpful.

4) PRACTICE carrier landings. Nothing ruins a succesful misison like ramming into the backend of the carrier, rolling off the deck, or missing the wire at a low power setting.
