Question Hobby Master vs Corgi F-4 Phantom

Would anyone review and compare Hobby Master's Steve Ritchie F-4 to Corgi's Robin Olds F-4 in terms of accuracy, detail, etc.?
Thanks

Re: Hobby Master vs Corgi F-4 Phantom

I have BOTH and Hobby Master beats Corgi in EVERY catagory hands-down! Better detail, no gaps/seams, etc. Hobby Master's first two F-4 have been sold-outs also, so that will tell you something too. Corgi is going the way of the do-do bird.

Re: Hobby Master vs Corgi F-4 Phantom

Now consider how long ago the Corgi model was first made (1999) and compare the Corgi Swordfish or Corgi Lancaster with the latest WWII biplane or the 4 engined bomber that HM have made, perhaps that will calm you down a tad.....

Horrido!

Or comparing the Corgi P-51B (2007) to the HM P-39 and HM F6F to agitate you up again.....

To which one would ask, "What do all these other models have to do with a simple direct comparison of the F-4s?"

Oh yeah! Well compare Corgi's Bf 109s (both scales) to HM's Bf 109s.............oh wait, HM hasn't made one, guess they better get on top of that and make a 1/48 Bf 109!!!!!!!

Sorry, I know it's off topic, but I just had to beat that drum.

Re: Hobby Master vs Corgi F-4 Phantom

I think Horrido! was responding to the "way of the dodo bird" comment more than anything leeG. Seems the HM booster club is becoming quite vocal as of late.

The Corgi Phantom is obviously older technology at this point, so there is no reason for the HM version not to be better in most respects.

Re: Hobby Master vs Corgi F-4 Phantom

Thanks for the info.
I'm thinking of getting the Corgi Robin Olds F-4 and the Hobby Master Steve Ritchie F-4---they both selling at about the same price, but I didn't know anything about the Corgi F-4.

Dragon53, for all the photos of Corgi's Phantoms you'll need to formulate an opinion, check out Phantom Home at Tricatus' site

Quite.

Horrido!

CANUCKLEHEAD:

Thanks for the link. That's exactly what I was looking for.

The link photo closeups show less-than-crisp detailing----far inferior to the Century Wings detailing.
