Re: A request for Liaison Planes from HM

One of the reasons that HM or other manufacturers might consider planes like the Storch as well as others named, above, is the success that HM has had with the Texan. I think that the same would apply to floatplanes like the Duck, Kingfisher, Pete, Arado Ar. 196 and Jake. If an adventurous company like HM would try just one of these, I believe that the response would be wildly enthusiastic, leading, of course, to more of the same. What do you think about this, William?

Kingfisher.. a good subject.

I also agree that Storch will be a difficult one.

The BF 108 should not be forgotten as well.

I think the BF 108 would be a great choice not only because of the amount of schemes that it wore in wartime but also that many are still flying today as you yourself will find out when you visit RAF Waddington. Two are booked to take part in the flying at this show so if you take a tape measure and a note pad you could one of the guys from DAF to do all the measuring up for you

I would be game for a few Bf 108s, and would not mind having a few of them sitting on the shelf. One in a North African paint scheme would look pretty sharp. (Spanish Civil War paint scheme would look great too.)

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

Re: A request for Liaison Planes from HM

I was flipping through my Vietnam: Order of Battle book and stumbled on a few more Liaison aircraft. The U-8F Seminole, U-21 UTE, the famous U-1 Otter and U-6 Beaver were all used by the US Army. There were also other models used made by Beechcraft, Helio, Cessna, Pilatus, etc used by the air force.

I just picked up that issue of Scale Modeler International. Real neat review on the Eduard 1/48th scale Bf 108 kit.

Wink Re: A request for Liaison Planes from HM

If selecting the Bf-108, don't forget to offer a Swiss one, and a French Nord 1000...

Re: A request for Liaison Planes from HM

Beaver ? Why not... The French air force also used it in Indochina alongside the MS-500 (Storch) and L-19.
