Re: A request for Liaison Planes from HM

You are right about the Storch being a bit tricky to execute in diecast, however I've seen pre-built plastic versions in 1:144th scale by Takara or Bandai or another of these companies that looked more or less OK. Also, Gorgi's Lysander, which is iffy where the canopy meets the wing, was accomplished successfully in diecast---somewhat to my surprise. I must admit to my amazement at what today's engineers, aided by computer technology, can accomplish. The Storch, with its long legs---er, landing gear---probably poses only a minor problem for them.

Re: A request for Liaison Planes from HM

These are excellent subjects.

I believe we will start with a Storch and the Cessna L-19 (if we are going to start in the near future).

Once again, William steps up to the plate! Honest to Pete, it doesn’t get any better than this. Can you imagine Corgi jumping in and taking the heart beat of this diecast community? NOT!

Go for it, Hobby Master! Whatever you make, we’ll buy!

It is never too late to be what you might have been.

Re: A request for Liaison Planes from HM

Another neat German liason aircraft would be the Bf 108 Taifun.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

Re: A request for Liaison Planes from HM

Taifun would be a great model with some very interesting liveries ranging from pre war air races to individual Jagdgeschwader hack planes - in 1/48 of course!

It would be a real fine looking model in 1/48th scale. Though not a liason aircraft, kind of like to see the HS 126 done. It would be nice to see some of the reconnaissance aircraft done in diecast.

A 1/48 Hs-126 would be really BIG... In 1/72 it would perfectly complement CG's excellent Lysander.

Re: A request for Liaison Planes from HM

One of the reasons that HM or other manufacturers might consider planes like the Storch as well as others named, above, is the success that HM has had with the Texan. I think that the same would apply to floatplanes like the Duck, Kingfisher, Pete, Arado Ar. 196 and Jake. If an adventurous company like HM would try just one of these, I believe that the response would be wildly enthusiastic, leading, of course, to more of the same. What do you think about this, William?

Thumbs up Re: A request for Liaison Planes from HM

HM Texans are one part of my collection that I like very much. and any liaison/ training/ floatplane that HM comes out with would sell well-We can all scream for new fighters etc..but those airplanes mentioned before are real neglected subjects and in my opinion a real gold mine for any die cast manufacturer inc. HM. My favourites
Liaison- Cessna Bird Dog. Piper L-4, Fieseler Storch. Bf 108 Taifun, Taylorcraft Auster family
Training- Bucker Bu 181 Bestmann. Arado Ar 96-a must-german Texan equivalent a highly forgotten/ neglected subject. DH 82 Tiger Moth, Fouga Magister
Floatplanes- same taste as Epapazian

One of these would look pretty cool sitting next to my Lysander.

One in Spanish markings would be neat too. (Need something form the Spanish Civil War)

Re: A request for Liaison Planes from HM

A little Bird dog, now that would be a winner.

Those little planes got everywhere and contributed a great deal, unsung heroes in my book.

I would be up for one of those anytime William.

God Bless America.
