Re: UPS dropped off a Kate today.

Looks good, CC. I can hardly wait to get mine, which is on the way. A few small nits, however. I was hoping that the fairly noticeable seam line between the upper and lower fuselage---especially under that long canopy---wouldn't be so pronounced. Your pictures look like the pre-pros, which made this quite evident. A smaller nit, concerns those small side windows under the canopy. Are they painted over? This isn't right, is it?

Re: UPS dropped off a Kate today.

Mine arrived today and I'm thrilled with it. I raised the 'lilliputians' in the cockpit by putting a piece of (my old standby/easy fix) chewed gum under their butts. Unseen from the outside as i have the aircraft in filght on the stand. Bring on the Val

Re: UPS dropped off a Kate today.

I have all three of the Carousel P-36s on pre-order too, no more models for me this year.

Then what will you do when the SB2C puts in its appearance?

I think the Kate is a special case, as this is the first Not-a-Zero released by a high quality manufacturer. Plus it has been heavily discussed on this forum and modified to as a result of members input. Hobby Master took a chance with this plane, and it has paid off. William posted that the production run for the first Kate was 2000 units, which I believe the standard run for HM, as well as Gemini Aces. Let's see how the other two Kates do. I have the second pre-ordered, but will probably pass on the third. I'm hoping this hurries the Val along.

Heaven help us all if and when Hobby Master issues the Val. We might as well sign our bankruptcy papers here and now, ‘cause there will be nothing for it when this little warbird hits the shelves.

Cool Re: UPS dropped off a Kate today.

I had my pre-order down in my records for TFM. I called and they have no record of it. So, I just ordred mine from Aiken's Airplanes. I hope they have one left!!!!!!!!!!

Re: UPS dropped off a Kate today.

I picked up my Kate from OMI today and it is a nice piece. I am slightly disappointed that the prop is plastic and bends easily but if I don't touch it much that won't be an issue. The munchkin pilots were expected, so no surprise there and everything else looks good, including the fit/finish.
Overall, the plane is nice, not outstanding, bit a nice, unique piece. I would give the Kate a 4 out of 5 stars, as I feel it could've been a little better.

Re: UPS dropped off a Kate today.

Well, I decided to put in some booster seats on the Kate today. It just did not look right with the aircrew sitting down so low. So with a little bit of low tack modeling masking tape, I put in some booster seats. End result does not look to bad, and look forward to a couple of more HM models to come out so I can try this on them.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

Re: UPS dropped off a Kate today.

My Kate just arrived and, after a bit of weathering, plus some elevation for the crew, it's on its way to Pearl. Great work HM!
