Oh My GOSH ! ! ! HM Navy F-4J

All I can say is man oh man what a beautiful specimen I got today. I picked up a couple of the HobbyMaster Cunningham Phantoms today and it was sheer delight pulling it out of it's box and looking it over. I Went to Big Guns Collectibles today and there i spied the beautiful US Navy blue Angels Skyhawk, the new F-104 the Kate the captured P-51B and of course the gorgeous Navy Phantom. I bought doubles because 20 years from now I plan to still own one! It is beautifully done the markings are crisp and assembly was flawless.

I am in heaven.

I'm Jealous, BIG-TIME

From what I've seen in pictures it's easily the best looking F.4

Re: Oh My GOSH ! ! ! HM Navy F-4J

Thanks Louie! It looks like they fixed the canopy windscreen. The front and side frames of the windscreen meet each other on the "Cunningham" where as my "Ritchie" frames don't. Have you guys noticed this on your "Ritchies"?

Re: Oh My GOSH ! ! ! HM Navy F-4J

Have you guys noticed this on your "Ritchies"?

Same as with my Triple Nickel F-4D.

I've looked at the pictures of the F-4J and F-4J(UK) posted by the admin of the DAF and it looks like HM is still using the same part for the canopy windscreen. They just painted the frames on the canopy windscreen "correctly" on the F-4J and F-4J(UK) so that there is no "gap" as in the F-4D.

Links to the pics (need to login though):

"http://forums.diecast-aviation.eu/showthread.php?t=8501" for the F-4J(UK) and "http://forums.diecast-aviation.eu/showthread.php?t=8500" for the F-4J.

You can also just notice it in the pictures posted by Louie. You can definitely see it in kingpin's pics: A few rough F-4 Showtime pics

Thanks for the pics Louie! I just wish my local distributor would have this in stock so that I wouldn't be buying this from abroad. The price of postage is high.

yes Mr. Sebring he has 2 Cunninghams no more Ritchies, the new 104's and the Blue Angels Hellcats and Skyhawks new 110's captured eagles and of course the elusive Kates. There are a few regulars so I recommend getting yours before the others do! Happy hunting seems lately i can't walk out of his shop without spending major waddage.

Re: Oh My GOSH ! ! ! HM Navy F-4J

Thanks for the info Louie,
As far as spending major waddage lately at big guns I think you can put me in that category as well!

Re: Oh My GOSH ! ! ! HM Navy F-4J

I got the Cunningham/Driscoll machine today, this baby is a diecast masterpiece IMHO! I'm not much of a rivet-counter, but to me this sucker looks pretty much right on the money. I honestly can't imagine CW doing this bird ANY better than Hobby Master did, for about $20 less. I had no plans for buying the other HM F-4's, but now that I have this one I am definitely going to get the Ritchie version and the Jolly Rogers bird. Bravo HM, IMO you hit a home run with this one. Now bring on the Soviet WWII stuff!
