Best 1/72 Scale Hobby Master Model

Which single 1/72 scale HM model do you think is their absolute best as far as quality and accuracy? I think their new Phantom is their most impressive overall model. The fit and finish are as good as or better than CW's in my opinion and it's $20 less than the Crusader. I have Ritchie's and I can't wait for more! I know the Kate is not out yet but it will be very soon and the photos of it look great! I have at least one of each mold except for the Stuka, Harvard, and Kate but I have the Fuchida Kate on pre-order.

Re: Best 1/72 Scale Hobby Master Model

I've seen all the ones released up till now........

.....& I own a P.39; Me.110; Harvard; & several TBM's & SBD's in 1/72nd from "H.M."

They're ALL sharp & are excellent models.

Difficult choice.....but I've voted for the Avenger as it floats my 'Nimitz' !

The Harvard is arguably better still !!!!!!!!!!!

I'm being honest here & this won't come over as popular, but I was in Modelzone at Bluewater on Friday, buying my pair of "Phantom of the Ruhr(s)" & whilst waiting for a pair of the "Holy-Grail" to examine, I saw the "Ritchie" Phantom in the cabinet on the top shelf........ & at 1st glance, I HONESTLY thought it was a Corgi

Gotta be honest; I'd MUCH rather have a 'Century-Wings' 1/72 anyday, but that's just me.

I think that company ('C.W'.) have "set the benchmark" in 1/72 & they NEVER cease to amaze me.

The "Ritchie" Phantom was in the cabinet at M.Z. for the same money as most Century-Wings offerings; certainly the EXACT same price as I'd paid for my various F.14's & A.6 Intruders.

I SURE hope I feel differently about the Navy F.4, as that HAS 'whet my appetite' (after looking at it in pix).

Re: Best 1/72 Scale Hobby Master Model

I don't have enough HMs "YET" to be able to vote in this poll.

I agree with Hornchurch about the Harvard, its a little beauty.

Waiting for the Kate, thats a must have for me, when that one appears I will order a couple of other HMs I want so as to save on shipping.

Well thats the plan but I may weaken if the Kate doesn't arrive soon.

God Bless America.

Re: Best 1/72 Scale Hobby Master Model

I really like the Hellcats, but I think the Phantom has my "best" pick so far in 1/72. If this were an "all-around" HM pick, it would be for the Spitfire, but that isn't on the list.

I'd have to say the Phantom -- though I also really like the Avengers and the A-10s, and the 1:32 SBD.

Re: Best 1/72 Scale Hobby Master Model

Have to go with the Bf 110s, and they will be even better with the corrected canopies.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

By far the F-4 Phantom. I think as a company HM has progressed alot and their latest model is proof of that.

I think its the mighty A-10. At least it has an ENGINE in the intakes.

Can you tell I'm bitter?
