Phantom stand modification

Here is a cheap and ridiculously simple modification, for the HM Phantom stand, that will let you safely display the Phantom without removing the screw plugs. All you need are some #10 rubber screw protectors. You should be able to find them at any hardware store. At Home Depot, they're in the misc fastener drawers in the isle with all the screws, nuts and bolts.

Take two screw protectors and press them in place over the front side supports of the stand. Take a third screw protector and cut a bit less than 1/4 inch off the bottom. Then, press the shortened screw protector over the rear stand peg.

The rubber covered supports will provide stable, secure support for the Phantom without the need to remove the model's screw plugs on the bottom of the fuselage.

Thumbs up Re: Phantom stand modification

Neat idea! I've always saved bags of those screw protectors in my tool bench bins, so now I've found good use for them thanks to you, skid!
