Re: HM P-400 Review

The guns on mine are straight and true, Mike. Going by the pics it appears that OC's guns got knocked a bit out of alignment. I don't believe it to be a manufacturing issue.

Re: HM P-400 Review

Only problem with that theory is the apparent opening on the front end.

Hard for me to say. He looks small but it is pretty hard to judge a figure at this scale. Here is a pic. I will fish out another HM pilot fig and compare. For the size and price I think it is a pretty decent figure, scale notwithstanding.

Yes, you are right. The scoop is useless for this model. Just for the convenience for production.

Thank you Ara, it has grown quite a bit with HM products a growing part of it.

Yes--- same here. HM has redefined how I collect; I collect many versions of the same a/c now with HM giving the hobby a new bend to "quality multiple releases within a short timeframe". Can't wait for the bubble canopy Spitfire.

I am envious of the Guadalcanal P-400--one of my fave motifs ever---and if it comes out in 1/48 I will be there. Talk later Black 6.

Yep, mine is up on the Dragon "compass" platform right now with the mechanics getting the guns aligned.

Just got mine today. The wing guns were straight, but the propeller-hub gun was a bit wonky. A bit of nudging got it back in line just fine. Otherwise, a beautiful model. And pilot officer Oliver Hardy squeezed into the cockpit just fine.

Re: HM P-400 Review

I'm amazed any of the guns were wonky at all considering how flippin' hard it is to get that model out of its plastic shell. Unless the poor person placing the models INTO the plastic got a little ticked jamming them into those tight little gripper thingys.

Is it possible that the guns are getting knocked when we try to get them out ourselves (and we don't notice what we did in our haste to check out the new model)? Only after the model is on display do we notice the problem and think it happened at the factory or in transit?

Oh ok, I was thinking that also Bret. I thought it wasn't the 'norm' for HM. If we were talking IXO/Altaya then yes for sure. I am picking up mine today from Big Guns Collectibles along with some other HM goodies (Lady Jesse A4 & F4 Richie).
