Thumbs up Re: tante JU

Franklin Mint makes some great JU-52's. But you better have a big display case, because they're large (1:48 scale). I've got this one .

Re: tante JU

]he only 1/72 DC3/C47 I can find is an ERTL model which has been around for years.

Fuselage seam is right down the middle and appears
to be wide enough for a 1/72nd paratroop to fall through as seen in the last photo.

Re: tante JU

How about a Kingfisher...or an Arado?.... even better if they could make it so they float. Wasn't some going to try that with a catalina?

Re: tante JU

I've got the RAF Market Garden version and I like it (it has a retro look and feel)...but I've displayed it far away from the other diecast.

It's quite heavy but the quality is nowhere near the quality of corgi, dragon, hobbymaster etc.
Next to the seem mapleflag mentioned, it has painted windows and sloppy paintwork. What you can't see clearly on the pictures is that the plane is a DC-3 and not a C-47. It has the passenger door, which can be opened.......but of course you won't find interior... The landing gear is retractable, but quite toyish.
So...it's not the best plane you can find......but for now it's the only diecast 1/72 dakota around...and it can be found for a reasonable price.

Re: tante JU

I'd love to see a C-47 in 1/72 also. I'd get it in a heartbeat.

But I'm confused about people saying there are not any Ju-52s in 1/72 scale. Isn't Corgi putting out 3 of them this year?

Yes, that's what I thought as well. I don't know why people aren't taking that into account.

Personally, I'm pretty happy with my FM 1/48 Ju-52. And, I do have a diecast 1/72 C-47, and it IS a Corgi! But from the older school of Corgi diecast, and it hasn't been made in I don't know how many years. It's got D-Day stripes and the detail isn't as fine as modern diecast, but it's fine, even with the painted windows. I wish I could remember where I got it... And I also wonder if it's the same mould Rooffie is referring to (?). Mine's definitely a Corgi, though.

I also have an FM 1/48 C-47 ("Argonia").

Re: tante JU

Hobby master should make a tante JU.
No?
It is a classic WWII plane that nobody has made yet it should be a good seller no?

Corgi is making a Ju-52... As I recall, they are making 3-4 versions of it..

Re: tante JU

Well now that Corgi is coming out with a JU52 my initial suggestion that Hobby Master comes out with this plane is irrelevant.
Of course I wont pay 119USD for it.
I will have to find a deal.

I love Polikarpov
