V-1 kills weren't counted as "kills" in the official count by the RAF, and I know of a few pilots who had their share of luck against the buzz-bomb (RAF/RCAF, some in double digits of V-1s destroyed), so I would assume that the USAF thought along the same lines.

That would seem to be the case. Lt Paul Smith was credited with five kills (Me 410, Ju 88, He 111, and 2 Ju 188s) plus a V-1. So it would seem the US had a similar practice.
 

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

I don't think they counted the V-1's in the final tally for these pilots...
