Oily Models?

I recently acquired an HM model with a couple of CQ problems (paint and glue globs), so I returned it to the vendor for exchange. It also had patches of an oily residue all over the wings and fuselage. Anyway, the vendor called me today and told me that many HM models are packaged with this oily residue, and that if I had a problem with it, I should avoid HM models. Now... I am not going to be that reactionary, but it did bother me a bit. I have about 10 HM models, this is the first with "oil" problems. Has anyone else purchased oily HM models? If so, what was your solution?

Never had this problem Elmer.

I thought this was just an IXO problem.

Re: Oily Models?

I do recall a few drops on one of my HM models---I forget which one----but, otherwise, it's not been a problem , unlike many IXOs.

Re: Oily Models?

I've had a couple come with this residue, but it wipes off easily enough that I never saw it as a problem really. I've seen similar issues with other brands, too.

Re: Oily Models?

My Maridor Spit arrived with oily wings-simply wiped it off with no problem what so ever.

Have several of the HM models and have yet to have any sort of quality control issue.

Re: Oily Models?

I recently bought a Witty Wings Super Hornet that had a lot of this oily residue/condensation like stuff. I was concerned but I wiped it off and now it's fine.

Re: Oily Models?

I've had no oil problems with my HM's. My full sized cars, yes, but not with HM's.

Re: Oily Models?

Now if we are talking real oily,,,, have a couple of IXOs that do quite well,,,, if only you could drive off of the stuff.
