Your #1 pick for Cold War Recon aircaft

This should probably wind things up for the Cold War era aircraft (Unless someone can think of another category.). How about Reconnassance/Surveillance aircaft from the Cold War period?
1. Any Cold War Reconnassance/Surveillance aircaft, current models may not be correct variant, scale or possible quality issue with current models available.
2. Since looking for diecast picks, try to stick with scales 1/72nd, 1/48th and 1/32nd.
3. Yep, one plane and one plane only, no lists.

My number one pick would be the OV-1 Mohawk in 1/72th scale. Another one of those, so ugly you gotta like them aircraft (Well at least for me). Ok so what would your choice be?

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

There are a few but a SR-71 stands out the most with me.

OK! I'll vote for a RF-101C. The airport at Gila Bend AZ has two of these as gate guards.

Re: Your #1 pick for Cold War Recon aircaft

I know its a bit late for inclusion, but the most impressive Reconn aircraft should be the Martin P4M-1Q Mercator. For those not familiar, it looked like an oversize Neptune, but had auxilliary jets buried in the engine nacelles. Only 19 were built for the USN in the late 1940s. They operated in great secrecy in the Far East and Europe. VQ-1 patrolled off shore of Eastern Russia, China and North Korea; one was shot down near Shanghai in 1956. The European operations were actually flown from Port Lyautey by VQ-2 in Morocco and were a frequent visitor to Blackbushe Airport near London in the early 1950s.Their primary job was eavedropping on Communist communications and trying to locate anti-aircraft missile batteries. They were superceeded by the EP-3 Orions in 1960.A neighbor of mine served as a radio operator on VQ-1 Mercators and told me that their average mission lasted 18 hours. If there was no cloud cover off the Chinese coast, the mission was terminated. They did see interceptors from time to time and would simply head out to sea and into cloud to avoid combat.

I had to look that one up, looks pretty neat.

An OV-1 Mohawk in 1:72 would be cool.
