Looking forward to this one. Every once and a while it is nice to get something unique and out of the ordinary. This looks like just the thing...

What I'd like to see is pics of the Beaufighter and Helldiver. That should be something!

Looking forward to this one too. I would also like to see a P-38 done up like Lefty Gardner's White Lightning. Saw him fly at Reno a few times.

More neat information on this aircraft: Lefty Gardner's Lockheed P-38 White Lightnin'

Re: Hobby Master News

I remember that P-38 racer...I always thought back then it looked like a fire bomber with the colors it had.
That P-39 is not bad looking either...

Re: Hobby Master News

I know this is not really in topic but warbird racers in 1/72 would be the bomb! They may/may not sell but the color schemes make a nice "break up" in the military schemes, imagine an F2G super corsair in race trim! I plan getting my hand on the HM P-39 for sure.

I grew up in Reno and come September I could always be found at Stead Air Field watching the warbirds sream around the race course. I have a race program from 1976 that show Lefty (the pilot) on the wing if his P-38 pointing to a large chunk of sage brush stuck in the left wing tip.....the true meaning of "fly low, fly fast, turn left!"

The racers do look pretty cool and I could go for a few sitting on the shelf. I have seen Lefty fly a couple of times at the Reno Air Races, pretty neat.

Re: Hobby Master News

I have been able to attend the races almost every year since 1975 (minus deployments and OCONUS duty stations) and have had an outstanding time. The diversity of racers and restored warbirds is great because you can see these aircraft as new (or better than new!) and of course the ones modified into brute horse power monsters. The past few years Bob Odegards super corsair has performed/raced and when that p&w 4360 goes by it makes the earth rumble.
