Raf P-39.

After much consideration of an aircraft that the RAF thought little of, I decided to acquire the HM P-39 in 601 Sqdn. colors just to add to my RAF fighter collection. Now that I have it, I must admit that I'm delighted with the product. The finish looks good and correct; my only problem was that the left MLG required potting in Elmers whereas the right MLG fitted nice and tight. It sits very well on the long nose gearWhen I placed it with my Spitfires, Hurricanes etc. it looked quite diminutive and my first reacation was that the scale was wrong. Some quick checks of comparitive data and measuring the model showed that HM had got it right. Now, I'll have to bet another USAAC version to go with the P-51s etc. Well done HM.

Re: Raf P-39.

I have one of these, and you are correct on it being a small one. Might be neat to see one of these done in 1/48th scale.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.
