1/72 Arado 196 Floatplane - future Hobby Master release?

William, in my opinion the Arado 196 would be a very successful release for Hobby Master - many possible liveries and it has wide appeal and marketability (just think, even a Bismarck version) . Perhaps you'll consider it for the future ... ?

The Ar 196 would make for a great looking model. Not to many float planes out there as it is and this one be a fine choice for a future release.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

I would love this choice! I currently have one in 1/72 scale I built back in the '90's hanging from my den ceiling and love it! It hangs right next to the Dornier Do 24 Flying Boat (3 engine) that I also built in 1/72.

I would love to see this, however a twin float model would pose some real challenges for HM's designers. I know that the Arado Ar.196 was also built (in small numbers) in a single float configuration, but the twin float version is how most of us know this plane.

If HM were to consider the float plane genre, I would think they might start with single float planes such as the Japanese Rufe----which would also allow them to put out a decent Zeke---as well as a Pete, or a U.S. entry, such as the Kingfisher. I believe that many of us would welcome these also.
Continuing along the same line of reasoning, if HM opted for a Japanese George, in both a land based and float plane mode, I'll bet that many of us, myself included, would jump for joy and purchase both versions.

Note doubt about it - Arado floatplanes and some Japanese Navy ones will be cash-cows for HM! Count me in for those.

Teh mid wing George would be kind of neat. Marushin has the low wing version covered, be nice to have the earlier mid wing variant too. The Ar 196 would probably be a good seller, like the twin float setup.

I'm with you on this one. Another consideration would be the Grumman Duck.

Curtiss Kingfisher and SOC Seagull too.
