Re: Your #1 pick for Twin engine Cold War fighter

yeah seeing as it's more relevant to bombers and as i've already voted for it there can i change my vote to Mig 25

Consider it done.

Re: Your #1 pick for Twin engine Cold War Bomber

I would have put the F-111A in the Vietnam category since that is where it first ventured into hostile air space. If the intent of the survey is to give a manufacturer some ideas, then I would eliminate the Canberra B2 since it has already been made by Corgi. One that seems to have been overlooked is the B-45 / RB-45 Tornado which was based in the U.K. at RAF Sculthorpe in 1952 as the 47th B.G.. They carried nuclear weapons. To confuse the Russians, Four RB-45s were even operated with RAF crews in RAF markings between 1952 and 1954.. It was amusing at the time as official sources denied that the RAF had any; as usual, eagle-eyed spotters photographed them "through the fence" and published the photos in Air Pictorial. International Air Power Review, Vol. 23, page 171, shows a photo of these aircraft.Other Strategic Reconnaisance units operated in Japan and Korea starting in 1950.I'll add the B-45 to the mix though the B-47 seems to be THE major omission too!

I agree on the B-47! I can't believe I overlooked that one.

Static display B-47 at Little Rock AFB, Arkansas.

Good evening JETFAN,

The B-47 and B-45 are already included in the 4+ engine bomber category.

Re: Your #1 pick for Twin engine Cold War fighter

Cruver,

I suggested the Avro CF-100 in my submission but maybe you missed it, I know it was only used by two Air Forces but the F89 was only used by one.
The CF100 probably had as much interaction with Badgers and Bears as a lot of the other candidates did.
