Re: Close Up of upcoming Mirage 2000s

I really like them both! But if you could only have one, which version is the most representative of the mark?

Black 6, get the blue one. The desert cammo was never used by the French Air Force except for one or two examples during Desert Storm which were oversprayed with water-soluble temporary finishes. This temporary overspray apparently has occured since then during a couple of exercises, but it's still extrememly rare.

Now if HM does a UAE version later, then OK, desert cammo would make sense on that.

As far as the model, the panel lines are a bit dark for my taste, but I can live with them. I really don't like that one line on the radome, though. Still, I'll be getting one (blue color).

Re: Close Up of upcoming Mirage 2000s

I've ordered the standard French camo one. I'd like both but had to limit myself to curtail costs. Postage for me is a nightmare.

Re: Close Up of upcoming Mirage 2000s

Good point about the harsh panel lines. I'm in the slow process of photographing my collection and it's obvious that the panel lines are highlighted under photographic conditions, e.g, flash and fill lighting. I suspect that many comments we read about overdoing the wash are based on lookig at the photos, not the real thing.

You said it perfectly, this is the way it is with 95% of the Hobby Master models. The HA1035 Captured Stuka won't have a wash so it will be worth watching for the comments about the panel lines, or should I say lack of panel lines.

Excellent! Thanks FVD for the input.

I would sure like to add an IDF Mirage to my collection! That would be a perfect desert camo for me.
