Re: Review: HA7103 Spitfire Mk.XIV "Jean-Marie Maridor"

Thanks for the review, Cardo. I am glad yours arrived without any major QC problems (other than the cons you pointed out). Mine arrived a few days ago with:

1. a dark paint glob on the spinner (can't tell if it is paint or possibly blood)
2. a glob of glue on the cockpit door (exterior surface)
3. patches of oily residue all over upper wing surfaces and fuselage

Needless to say, it had to go back for exchange. Kind of soured me a bit. Also, even in the flesh, the canopy just didn't look right, as you pointed out it is thick and looks bulbous to me... spoils the profile. I think mine will stay permanently open. Due to this problem, this one will probably be my only razorback. I look forward to more bubbletop liveries.

There is recently a QC problem with our products. HM will put more stringent control on this.
Sorry for this.

Re: Review: HA7103 Spitfire Mk.XIV "Jean-Marie Maridor"

Good idea, Harry. Let us know if you find one, if it works, and then please post pics.

I take a closer look at the high-back Spitfire last night.

The canopy seems to be acceptable to me, a little bit bulging though. As far as I am concerned, not everyone is satisfied with it.

I made a request to re-do this one and was informed that the cost would be around US$1,000. That's a lot of money for such a small pcs.

I think someone is going to give me a lot of s**t but I have proceed with the re-making of it. It will take another month before the 1st test sample will ever come out so the "Ginger" Lacey will still have the old canopy.

We can supply a few extra new canopy with the next high-back but I think you guys agree we already have enough high-back in the meantime.

So there is another thing I am thinking about : making a set of 1/48 WWII pilots (for F2A) supplies with these extra canopies?

Man talk about a line directly to the source. I can't believe how much actually gets accomplished. Could you imagine if more of our hobby was like this. I would be broke in a week. Thanks William.

Top notch when it comes to customer support. Outstanding effort on your part passing on suggestions and concerns.

Thank you, William. I am sure the vendor will supply me with a corrected one. Regarding your feedback on a new canopy, WOW! Outstanding! You deserve a medal...
