Re: Next 1/48 from Hobbymaster?

Elmer....I'm shock at what you just did......You need to see the light again...F4U Corsair.....With no Elmer holes on the bottom..
I agree the P-51B made by EI is the best on the market..It would be nice to see a P-51D down the road.

Yes... JP. I would definitely go for a Corsair also because I personally do not think a real nice one has been done in any scale by any diecast maker (with Dragon probably being the best).

Regarding the P-51D, I just keep beating that old dead horse of "it has been done to death" because I don't think it has. Other than Dragon, it has been done badly by everyone who has attempted it...

Including the larger scale Corgi and GMP

Come now, the GMPs are "bad" Really? Bad?

I agree with the rest of the assessment though so make some room

I do remember that HM was toying with the idea of a P-51D a while back, obviously it's still on the thinking about it list......... if at all.

Well, it is pretty. Not bad. How about "inaccurate?"

Is inaccurate bad?

Re: Next 1/48 from Hobbymaster?

Mustng idea is certainly welcome.....much better than the slightly "fuggly" Corsair (just an opinion!!) however, the MOST attractive Mustang is the as yet unattempted P51 / P51 A series.... just a beautiful nose on this Baby with the Allison engine.Bubble top Ds just don't do anything for my tastes, kinda weird, mebbe?? Mike

With ya on not being a fan of the D, but that's what makes the Mustang a well-rounded friend- you can choose A, B/C, D, H, Apache, etc. Also, fought in multiple theaters, always a plus...

Here's my Tamiya 1/48 jobber.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

Re: Next 1/48 from Hobbymaster?

I voted Yak 9 but would prefer the Yak 3. That said I want a Tempest Mk V! There are many others I would fancy like the La5/7& Macchi 202/205 amongst others. OK, I won't be able to resist a decent Corsair either.

Lots of people sure like the Russian fighters on here...
I only have 1 and it's a Yak-9 Soviet Air Force "White 17" of Ivan Stepanenko in 1:72.

Re: Next 1/48 from Hobbymaster?

Kind of like the idea of a Polikarpov I-16 or Macchi Mc 202 that they had previously mentioned. If I had to vote for one it would be the I-16. If were to be a vote on an aircraft not mentioned so far, have to lean towards the Curtiss P-36/Hawk 74A or maybe the the Boeing P-26 the leeG brought up in the previous post. He leeG, the Curtiss P-6E and Boeing F4B would make for some great looking models too (You have good taste in aircraft).

CC, I couldn't agree more--give us that I-16!!!!

Re: Next 1/48 from Hobbymaster?

None of the above spin my wheels m'afraid - i'd be happy to see a Tempest orTyphoon though

I agree here, as for the I-16 not really, its one but ugly aircraft IMHO. Or give us a 109 or 190 for the Spits to duel with, or something right out of left field thats not been done in diecast a Me 163 Komet. It would be rather small in 1/72 but in 1/48 would look good.
