Re: Next 1/48 from Hobbymaster?

Absolutely CC. That said, the I-16 would be particularly welcome, and who knows, if profitable to the manufacturer, 1/48 or 1/72 Yak and Lavotchkin fighters as well as the Il-2 could follow...

Re: Next 1/48 from Hobbymaster?

Hey Cruves, did you get this very heavy hint?

William, I bet Cruver Collector would buy every I-16 you may produce... Just guessing...

I like the I-16 the same as the Brewster Buffalo, so yep would have to pick up one of each.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

That is what I am hoping. Not enough Soviet aircraft represented in diecast.

I second this opinion; even though I voted for a Ki-44, if HM makes a Soviet bird from WW2, then I think their first should be a Yak-9, due to a plethera of variants that this aircraft will yield, not to mention the importance of this Yak. The second choice would be a La-5FN or a La-7, and then a I-16 'Rata' (I saw one of these at the Oshkosh Fly-In in 2003; if memory serves me correctly, this was a Type 16 with 2 20 mm cannnons, one in each wing, and 4 7.62mm machine guns in the cowling. This was an original and flew in the show. Cool looking bird!! ).

Looking forward to annoying the 'former' Florida Diecast Forum members!!

I remember seeing the photo of the I-16 at the 2003 Oshkosh Fly-In. Kind of looks like an I-16 Type 24 packing four 7.62mm ShKASs. Neat looking plane and hope the I-16 is a possible HM furture release.

Re: Next 1/48 from Hobbymaster?

My vote goes for a FW 190 A and a Me 109 (any version). So many great schemes left for these two planes.

We're the middle children of history, man. No purpose or place. We have no Great War. No Great Depression. Our Great War's a spiritual war... our Great Depression is our lives.

Re: Next 1/48 from Hobbymaster?

My distributors may blame me for disclosing information too early. But my personal favorite is the I-16.

If this is to be taken as a hint, this is great news indeed! I will be ordering one of each livery offered without a doubt! I voted for the Yak-9, but IMHO the La-7 would be a better choice after the I-16. I must agree with the opinions being expressed by Cruver and others, Soviet/Russian designed WWII VVS aircraft are woefully under-represented.

Also, I wish to say thanks to William for participating in our discussions. Your presence here has added a whole new dimension to the discussion IMO, I very much enjoy getting the perspective of the manufacturer. Thanks for taking the time to post!

If we are lucky and HM does come out with the I-16, I would also like to see the La-7 being a next Soviet aircraft put out. Keeping my fingers crossed that over the next couple years we see some more Soviet/Russian aircraft being produced.

Re: Next 1/48 from Hobbymaster?

The I-16 would be cool to see, that is if it can't be a Corsair

I'd make room for a few!

If the focus were to shift to Russian aircraft, which have been neglected in all scales, I would go nuts for an IL-2 in 1:48 next.....

Re: Next 1/48 from Hobbymaster?

Have you tried a Carousel 1 109E?

I have not, but they do not look as good as Carousel 1's other products (especially the Doras which I own the D13) and the liveries they have made do not appeal to me thus making $60-$70 for one not worth it (to me that is). I would prefer a 109F or 109G in 1/48 as the Emil is not my favorite version of this bird. Also the lack of a pad printed swazi that I have to put on myself has turned me off from this model.
