| Re: Next 1/48 from Hobbymaster? While I would appreciate almost any 1:48 scale entry, I am going to beat a dead horse and clamor for a well done P-51D. Now before you all start crying "Not another P-51D, it has been done to death!" I remind you the only 1:48 diecast option is Franklin Mint's. | |||||||||||||

True. The P-51D is also poorly done in 1/48, however, the P-51B/C from EI is one of the best.. | ||||||||||||||

| Re: Next 1/48 from Hobbymaster? Elmer....I'm shock at what you just did......You need to see the light again...F4U Corsair.....With no Elmer holes on the bottom.. I agree the P-51B made by EI is the best on the market..It would be nice to see a P-51D down the road. | |||||||||||||

| Re: Next 1/48 from Hobbymaster? I would rather they reserve 1/48 to extra small planes like buffalo or I 16. I think the Yak is a relatively small plane. | |||||||||||||

| Re: Next 1/48 from Hobbymaster? Hopefully, if they build a Russian WWII type, it will be in 1/72 because that is what I can buy. The 1/48 size makes fantastic models, but the prices are way beyond my budget (and because of that I didn't vote here). A lot of 1/72 collectors, who like me just can't afford the larger scales, hope that the smaller scales won't be neglected. I realize that HM puts out more 1/72 scale models at this time, but assume, too, that like bigger autos, the bigger scales give the model companies more profit against their investment; as prices for materials and shipping rise, they may decide to ramp up their scales to keep profits in line. And before anyone gets upset with me, I'm not taking the position that 1/72 models are better than 1/48, because they aren't; it isn't a matter of quality, but it is a matter of affordability. As HM plans new releases, I hope they won't forget the lower half of the market. | |||||||||||||

| I have voted for the Ki-44, but like Cruver Collecter the Curtis H75/P36 is really the first type I am after... In the biplane category, the I-153 mentionned by Sergey (far more historically important a plane than the F3F !) would be great. As an alternative however, I think the very last US biplane combat aircraft, the Curtis SBC Helldiver, would make a spectacular model. Commercially it wouldn't be more risky a choice than the F3F, and unlike that one, the SBC at least didn't leave the front line before 1942 ! | |||||||||||||
