Re: Pics of second release Kate are up..

OK, experts, what was the reason/rationale for carrying the torpedo just off center?

Hard points for weapons off center would probably have to do with the bombadiers aiming sight with is just right of center. If weapon load were centered it would obscure bomb aimers site. Does look just a little bit off,

I believe both Kates will have crew. I have both pre-ordered. Big difference is armament, the first has a bomb and the second a torpedo.

Yep, I do believe I read that both Kates will have crews. The pre production photos look pretty good and I have them both on pre-order too,

Re: Pics of second release Kate are up..

Question for our experts: Should this scheme have a black nose?

I have mine on pre-order in either case.

I'm no "expert" but the cowling color looks pretty good to me. It should be blue-black.

Re: Pics of second release Kate are up..

I really like this version but the underside color should not be light gray. It should be semi-gloss pale olive gray close to FS-24201. Lighten it up a little for scale effect.

We have made this INJ Light Gray. I am still waiting for a confirmation from our Japanese expert but he has not replied yet. It could be a greenish gray (Nakajima style) as you mentioned.

Kate factoid...

Learned last night from j-aircraft.com that Pearl Kates had 1/3 the mortality rate than the Vals that were in the attack. 5 Kates shot down vs. 15 Vals.
