My Serious HobbyMaster Mistake!

I made a real serious mistake. I just got my first 1:48 scale model ever and boy is this dangerous! Today I received HobbyMaster's HA7006 - the F2A Buffalo of VF-2. This is the one with the red cowling. All I can say is....

WOW!!!!

This thing is BEAUTIFUL!

I have all of the HM Buffalos and the three with the prewar paint schemes look pretty sharp. I can't wait for the F3Fs to come out.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

Trap, do you prefer a 'standard' Spit wing or one with 'clipped wings'?

Re: My Serious HobbyMaster Mistake!

HotTrap you are doomed to travel down the road of yet more expense.

1/48 is a good scale but you will find that you now buy both 1/72 and 1/48, 2 instead of one means double the money !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am now well down that road myself, it started with a single purchase of the FW190 by Carousel, now a short while after the durn 1/48 things are all over my place.

The HM Buff is a superb model and I think we are very lucky that HM decided to make such a relatively unknown aircraft.

God Bless America.

I was successfully resisting the Buffalo right up until the F3F was announced.

Doesn't really matter I guess - I'm sort of partial to the regular winged version. I love the 5-bladed prop and the blisters on the nose.

I'm in the same boat lee. Once I saw the F3F I decided to try getting the Buffalo. Price was about $29.99 off ebay and luckily I had some money saved up. I won't be getting a lot of 48th scale planes, but I feel confident that I'll get some. I have to be a careful shopper here and only get a plane if I really like it. I'm trying to be thrifty - times are tough.

Yes Jim, the road is expensive, but it is lots of fun. BTW, Nice to have you back!
