Re: My Serious HobbyMaster Mistake!

Doesn't really matter I guess - I'm sort of partial to the regular winged version. I love the 5-bladed prop and the blisters on the nose.

In that case, I would recommend Newberry's Mk IVc, with the Malcolm hood. I have both variants; this one and Johnnie Johnson's Mk IVe, with the 'clipped' wings and the bubble canopy. I have ordered the 3rd one with the D-day stripes, flown by Jean-Marie Maridor. By the way, procuring diecast aircraft in 1/48th and 1/32nd scales is good for you there, Trap; it'll put some hair on your chest!!

Looking forward to annoying the 'former' Florida Diecast Forum members!!

Re: My Serious HobbyMaster Mistake!

I made a real serious mistake. I just got my first 1:48 scale model ever and boy is this dangerous! Today I received HobbyMaster's HA7006 - the F2A Buffalo of VF-2. This is the one with the red cowling. All I can say is....

WOW!!!!

This thing is BEAUTIFUL!

That is the same bird that got me started to like them a little more..
Congrats on your new plane.

Wink Re: My Serious HobbyMaster Mistake!

I got sucked in also! I bought the HM7002 Singapore B339-E by mistake because I thought it was 1/72 scale. It's been lonely all alone on a shelf by itself. Then the F3F announcement. I went back and ordered the HM7006 F2A-2 Buffalo. And now I can't wait to a the F3F. I can envision a time when I have a shelf full of Pre/Early war fighters in 1/48 scale. Never thought I'd get involved in 1/48, darn.

Wink Re: My Serious HobbyMaster Mistake!

I received my Singapore Buffalo recently and have the JJ Spit. I don't collect 1/48 but now even got a EI P51. I reckon they are well worth it.

Re: My Serious HobbyMaster Mistake!

ATTENTION! ACHTUNG!

All new 1:48 collectors: do not, I repeat, do not buy a Carousel 1 Fw 190D. Doing so may infect you with 1/48scaleitis... a condition hazardous to your credit card!

Come to think of it... almost any C1 model is infectious... but oh what joy!
