HM 1/32 Dauntless replacement props?

I wondering if anybody had any further info on when HM is going to ship replacement props for the first 1/32 Dauntless to dealers?
My distributor said they were coming but best he could tell me is that they were a few weeks out.
I have a had a few customers report back to me with the prop issue on their models, I'm just tying to get them a better time frame.

Re: HM 1/32 Dauntless replacement props?

Back on April 11th, Hawkonevoodoo said they were soon to be shipped to the retailers and would thus be available to customers in about 2 weeks time-- that was from April 11th. I noticed on the Diecast Aviation Forum that the distributor in the United Kingdom had them and was shipping them to retailers. I don't think they are that far away.

There's plenty of chit-chat around here about it -- the first SBD has an issue whwere the prop droops very noticeably due to a poor fit of the spinner to the engine hub/block. HM is shipping replacements out to fix the issue -- only the first release SBD has the problem, and to my knowledge, it affects just about all of them, if not all of them. check out my pics/thread in the hobby master section. I have the second release SBD now and it DOES NOT HAVE THE PROP ISSUE, just to be clear

Re: HM 1/32 Dauntless replacement props?

The stand for the 1/32 SBD is under preparation which will be sold separately.

The delivery date should be around July (or before) and the price is to be determined.

Many thanks for the explanation Pappy !!!!!!!!!!

Wonder how we'll be able to tell if ANY of the first-issue versions are modified to address this problem ?

OR = Does that mean bypassing the 1st issue, unless you 'accept' the problem - then retrospectively ask for a replacement ?

Well, any first release SBDs still in stock will likely either be shipped to you with the replacement prop, or shipped to you with the prop swapped out already by the vendor.... I really think it's a non-issue at this point, and shouldn't stop you from picking up the first release if you like the livery and can live with the other issues (no stand -- will also be able to buy one later, separately) and the small crew figures.

If you can't tell if the first release model you are looking at has had the modification, then it will look right and that's a good thing If it looks like it needs a little blue pill, well, then it hasn't had the mod

Re: HM 1/32 Dauntless replacement props?

Yeah but us U.S. vendors have not gotten replacement props yet, nor a clear date on when they are coming.
