Re: New Sample Photos

I find it interesting that they went with the earlier version of the F3F-1. Preproduction picture is of a later version. Personally I would look forward to seeing the earlier version with the tear drop blisters on the cowling. They went with a bit of a different choice for the Bf 110, and like the paint scheme it is sporting. Bf 110 also has an interesting history behind it too. Air racing P-39, kind of like it, and will snag one of them if the actually put it out.

Re: New Sample Photos

I'll buy the F-100 and BF-110 but will wait to see what other schemes are selected for the F3F, since I plan to purchase only one of these.

Yeah, the mock-up (picture that William posted) definitely has the -2 and -3 cowling. William said in another thread that HM had molded parts for the later two variants. Perhaps all three variants can be done from the mold?

Re: New Sample Photos

Wow, combined with the A-4, that means HM will have made TWO Blue Angels releases within just a few months of having the molds designed when Dragon has yet to do a BA Hornet with the mold they've had for years.

I'm guessing that Dragon must have misplaced their mold or something and are now just hoping people would forget they ever did the it.

But I think that 110 should be an interesting scheme

Hey, I thought they were going to do the Thunderbirds F-4 next. Is that still coming along?

It is shown up on the Hobby Master Collecter page.

I too was surprised and pleased that they are going to also do the F3F-1 in addition to the later F3F-2's and 3's. They are very different due to different engines and probably require different molds for many of the parts. I am sure that the Hobby Master F3F's are take-offs of the very excellent Accurate Miniature kits. Accurate Miniatures makes kits for both the F3F-1 and the F3F-3. They also make a very nice kit of the Vindicator dive bomber in 1/48 scale, which brings up all sorts of interesting thoughts about the possibility of a diecast 1/48 Vindicator... or "wind indicator" as the crews sometimes referred to it.

Re: New Sample Photos

Dang... an "Ace of Spades" in 1:32! The next livery I wanted. I was hoping HM would space these out a little. My wallet is gonna take a beatin' and so am I. Mrs. E ain't gonna like the bank statement come August / September. I may have to cut out some other models on my wish list.

Re: New Sample Photos

I remember hearing about a possible M-24 Chaffee from HobbyMaster awhile back. Glad they finally have it in the pipeline.

I'm a bit confused about their listed next BF-110 release, although I like the paint scheme. It says it was based out of Switzerland. If I'm not mistaken, Switzerland was neutral during WWII. So why would the Germans have BF-110s based in Switzerland? Anybody know?
