Re: Japanese WWII planes

Here's a rare shot of a Jake. Notice the (possibly) white wing tips, and take note of how the bottom of the float was painted...

Re: Japanese WWII planes

These would be a nice addition....

I still have that Ki 51 Sonia kit, it's a neat kit in that there are two models in it. Sonia would make for a good looking diecast model, and I would really like it if they did the Jake. The Jake has to be one of the better looking float planes from WWII.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

Neat photo of the Jake, kind of makes you wonder where it was taken at.

Re: Japanese WWII planes

Tedongganas, did you have to assemble those 1/100 planes and what scale and brand were the others that you displayed?

Yup, its in kit form and and pre painted. The F18 Diamond Backs is from Witty (1/72) and the B2 is from New Ray. Not sure about the scale of the B2 maybe 1/200?. The stand is made of metal and if you look carefully the base is actually a world map !!

That's one cool plane you have CC.I believe we need a something new and different from the usual Zeros; Fws; Mes and so on. Both Witty and DW has covered most of the Zeros the Mes and the Fws. I think we'd enough have all those.

I agree, some many interesting aircraft have yet to be done.

Re: Japanese WWII planes

I've been thinking long and hard on this, after studying Japan's a/c for the better part of 30 years. I think the Ki-51 Sonia would really turn a lot of heads with its design and variation of camouflage and markings.

I also think the B6N Jill and D4Y Judy would look great next to a 1/48 Helldiver and Avenger. Sadly, none of these planes, friend or foe, exist in 1/48.

Re: Japanese WWII planes

The Japanese Army Mary, Ann and Sonia all sported interesting schemes.

Re: Japanese WWII planes

Here is one I built, a 1/72 M6A Seiran which I think would be cool in diecast..
