Thumbs up Re: Japanese WWII planes

Cool little models you got there Tedongganas. I'd also like to see HM do some more Japanese planes for us. I prefer fighters myself but would get those floatplanes in a heartbeat.

Re: Japanese WWII planes

The Japanese Army and Navy aircraft have pretty much been ignored by the major diecast companies (With the exception of Marushin). It would be nice to see HM tap into this fairly untouched selection of aircraft. Ki 44 ( Tojo), Ki 46 (Dinah) and the Ki 45 Toryu (Nick) would be a some that I would really like to see done. I really like some their twin engine fighters.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

Re: Japanese WWII planes

CC - those are great photos that illustrate my point that the Japanese produced some really nice looking WWII aircraft in my opinion at least.

Re: Japanese WWII planes

I would love to see more Japanese planes in 1/72 (or 1/48) and the Ki-84 Frank would be at the top with the Ki-44 Tojo coming a close second.. (After the Val of course)

I totally agree with you ZS. I think we have been concentrating more on famous planes like the Zeros, Mustangs and Messerschmidt. Its about time for HM to rethink and built more of these planes ( Boatplanes would be nice too ).I believe HM is going on a right direction with their future release of "Kates". These planes have long been ignored by the majority.Talking about floatplanes one should consider the Aichi's Seiran ( Submarinborne plane ) and the Nishikisuisen Rufe. The later was piloted by Master Sergeant Kawai and Maruyama in Guadalcanal. They desperately engaged and fought against 20 F4s. They managed to shoot down 4 F4s before being shot down and killed by the US fighter planes.I would definitely buy anyone of these without second thoughts or hesitation. HM are you listening ....!!??

I would like to see the Mavis done in 1/72nd scale, it would be a impressive model. I like the Emily, but just something about he older look to the Mavis that I really like (All those struts). With its wing span, probably to big for 1/72nd though, not is big as the B-29, but still pretty large wing span with this one..

To be honest, I think alot depends on how well the Kate does. If it things go well with the Kate, might just be some good times ahead with regards to new Japanese aircraft coming out. With the way the Marushing models sell, I have a feeling there is a group of folks out there that collect WWII Japanese aircraft. My hope is that Hobby Master can tap into this area too.

Well, from the number of members responding to the threads posted on " Kates ", it is one plane we all are waiting with anticipation !! I do hope collectors support the release of "Kate" so that maybe perhaps HM would consider maiking these rare planes. My wish lists are the Floatplanes; Boatplanes and the Bombers and Night Fighters.

Re: Japanese WWII planes

There is probably more of a market in the USA for Japanese planes. HM seems to have a Pacific War focus, which is good as Corgi is definitely European focused. The DAF guys don't seem to excited by the Kate, and only perked up to the P-39 when it sported roundels.

That said, any of these for me please.
