How could you leave out the Marines like this one?

F-4J Phantom II VMFA451

Re: W e'll need these Phantom too

My money is on Century making an F-4B/N mold. IMHO almost all the best F-4 schemes are on B/N's. Though VMFA-333's F-4J's are among the very best ever. We've gotta have the Fighting Shamrocks with white rudder...

Re: Pics of American F-4's for HM to think about!!!

I like the "Death Angel" myself (one with red cowling and white stars?).

You mean this one Bill ?
Very nice looking Phantom...I want the SUU-23AA Gunpod on the centerline pylon like the last picture shows.

The VMFA(AW)-235 "Death Angels" did several combat tours in Vietnam with the F-8E Crusader (ground attack version). They were even the last Marines unit to fly the Crusader, until they redesigned to VMFA-235 and transitioned to the F-4J in late 1968. Their Phantoms reportedly flew combat missions in this scheme out of Da Nang Air Base, South Vietnam.

There is a ton of great schemes and it would be hard to pick a dud.

I have merged these two Phantom threads "Pics of American F-4's for HM to think about!!!" and "We'll need these Phantom too" into one.

I wonder if CW's Phantom will share some of the same parts that HM uses or will it be 100% new and different.

Re: Pics of American F-4's for HM to think about!!!

Great set of photo's.

My two cents - a low-vis grey Wild Weasel would be awfully hard to resist.

I'm with you Canuck, a low - viz variant is a must as well as a Marine bird. Oh, and of course an Israeli one....

Take it out and play with it

Re: American F-4's for HM to think about !!!

I'd love an VF-84 Jolly Roger Phantom and I don't want to buy the hulking BBi version. I'd like to see the shark mouth VF-111 Sundowner, VF-114 Aardvark with its nice orange highlights and a shark mouth USAF. I do like the USMC Shamrock and a nice low vis Wild Weasel would be awesome too.
