That's the whole point all the vendors have been focusing on the wartime birds for years.. These pre-war birds are just as much part of our aviation history as any other. It's time for these planes to shine a little now. JP

Heck yeah! The P-6E is one of my all time favorites. If done well, and done in 1:48 or 1:32, I would buy all of 'em! There isn't a livery I don't enjoy! 1:72 would be too dinky... this isn't a large aircraft.

Thats because you are old enough to recall seeing them in the air. LOL
Old age and other activities lead to poor eyesight. The rest of us can still manage the scale.

Your a funny man, Shawn! Well, yeah, my eyesight isn't what it used to be (I'm only 43 for cryin' out loud!). I am avoiding bi-focals like the plague, but may soon have no choice. Really, I just think the detail would be better at 1:48. Rigging the model would be easier (I would think), cockpit detail, etc. This is a tiny aircraft by WWII and post WWII standard.

| Re: How about a P6E Hawk ??
Well the vendors have been focusing on like the same 12 or so wartime birds for years.(Mustang, Spit, Zero, 109, 190).. only the last year or so have we seen much diversity, largely thanks to HM. I'd much rather see, even a more mainstream warbird like the Corsair done right in 1:48 before we see more "stringbags" Again, though , y'all know I'm weak -- if one of these were to come out and it was done really well I'd probably add one... I'd just rather see the resources be spent elsewhere is all, least for the moment.

| Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes. | ||||||||||||||

| Re: How about a P6E Hawk ?? Still to go from a tiny bi-plane ( P6E or F3F ) to the P-47 or P-51 for the USAAC. Or the F6F or F4U on the Navy side would speak volumes. | |||||||||||||

Even the transition to the F4F Wildcat and the P-36 would have been a bit of a jump.

| Re: How about a P6E Hawk ?? Much as I prefer 1/72 if Hobby Master were to do these they should be 1/48 to go along with the Buffalo and the upcoming F3F. | |||||||||||||

| Re: How about a P6E Hawk ?? Interesting story on the Indian head insignia for the 94th. The 94th squadron in WW I adopted the "Hat in the Ring" insignia in WW I. In 1922, the squadron gave up that insignia as it had become too well known, having been used on Rickenbacker cars and the Schwinn bicycle company. So, they adopted the above insignia which had been used, of course, by the Lafayette Escadrille in WW I. Then, in April 1942, Eddie Rickenbacker visited the 1st Pursuit Group, including the 94th, and that visit helped initiate a drive to bring back the old Hat in the Ring" insignia. This was approved later in 1942. | ||||||||||||||
