F3F "Pussycat"

So now that Hm is making one of the nicest flying bi-plane fighters anybody ever trained on, what would you like to see?

I like this one I found on a google search. It's an F-2 with a reported ceiling of 30,000 feet+

or here is another (F-1)

Re: F3F "Pussycat"

Both of those look great to me, I confess to not knowing much about this bird but it sure is pretty, I could make room for a couple!

Re: F3F "Pussycat"

Forget to tell, the preview posted is a mixture of F3F-2 and F3F-3. Hence, the correct parts will be used for the right model when released.

Re: F3F "Pussycat"

I see two more in the background that need doing by HM. The Wildcat and FJ-4 Fury. Nice F3F, but want USN birds first.

Re: F3F "Pussycat"

The F3F looked clunky, but it was a better performer than most standard biwings of the era, land or sea. I'd buy a few; the paint schemes were especially great...

Shawn - the F3F was a USN bird! It was the F4F Wildcat's predecessor. What's wrong with the Wildcats that are available by C1 and Dragon?

Re: F3F "Pussycat"

Shawn -

the F3F was a USN bird! US Navy before USMC is where I was going with that.

It was the F4F Wildcat's predecessor. I know.

What's wrong with the Wildcats that are available by C1 and Dragon? Never seen a C1 Wildcat, is it 1/72nd or 1/48th? And Dragon hasn't done a nice colorful early one. And I doubt they will since they seem to be bowing out. I have all of Dragon's Wildcats, I think HM could pick up the ball and do six early ones in pre-war colors.

Re: F3F "Pussycat"

Finally someone got around to making one of the early Navy biplanes. With it being a fairly small aircraft, good thing they are making it in 1/48th scale. I dug out my Squadron in action publication on this aircraft after seeing that this one is going to be a future release. The F3F does have a nice selection of paint schemes to work with, and could support a nice selection of models.

One at Chino.

Remember making a model of this one.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

I dont know much about this plane but it really looks good. I specialy like the orange one.
Was the US the only country to use them?
