Re: F3F "Pussycat"

F3F-1 and F3F-2 lining up.

The F3F-1 looks great. Between the two different models should end up with nice size selection of prewar US Navy biplanes. I am looking forward to the release of these models.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

Re: F3F "Pussycat"

It seems unlikely anyone will do deck crews (just judging by the fact that we can't seem to get anything in 1/72 either) but if they did what should they look like? Anyone know what the US Navy deck crews wore in 1940? Same as in 1944? I don't know when the colored shirt system was adopted.

On the other hand there are a number of good carrier deck sets in 1/48 but again they are mostly wartime and not the proper color for the pre-war decks.

How about these even a free printable version

Re: F3F "Pussycat"

Has anyone tried the carrier deck sections by Custom Dioramics USA?

Forgot about them- yes those should be pretty close though I think the pre-war color had a stain to it.

Re: F3F "Pussycat"

Seeing as how this IS a thread about the F3F (not that I personally mind, boys!), I just thought I'd point out that I got an Email from Pete's showing a CORRECTED lower price on the HM F3F. Still seems like a lot to me, but I rather thought the original price he posted was REALLY high.

Nice to see the price come down of the F3F (Seeing since I have one on pre order). Being a biplane kind of expected to pay a little more on this one.

Re: F3F "Pussycat"

Am I correct in saying that there are two of these rather portly elderly ladies flying around on the American airshow circuit?
