Re: F3F "Pussycat"

Great job on the rigging. Is this one of the Accurate Miniatures models?

Re: F3F "Pussycat"

Forget to tell, the preview posted is a mixture of F3F-2 and F3F-3. Hence, the correct parts will be used for the right model when released.

Thanks for that clarification, Bill. I think your choice of variants is excellent. I would rather see the F-2 and F-3, more than the F-1.

I assume the gear will be too tricky to retract? Will this model come with optional gear up, gear down configurations?

Re: F3F "Pussycat"

If HM puts this out in 1/48 it will be the end because I won't be able to resist even if it isn't my scale...feel like I'm being set up to break my last remaining guideline. Maybe if I start a new shelf just for 1/48 and hide them behind a curtain...

I felt the same way up until HM put out their Buffalos. Still have predominantly 1/72nd scale, but now have a couple of shelves with 1/48th scale on them.

Re: F3F "Pussycat"

Yep these will break my no bigger than 1/72nd sclae rule too. But I can't think of a better bird to start off with. The Buff just didn't do it for me, but I did like the early liveries of those birds.

Re: F3F "Pussycat"

Since I already collect WW1 in 1/48, I'll just push the 1/48 time line out to include pre-WW2. I know I can't resist the F3F. And if they do a P-6E Hawk, I'm definitely a goner.

Re: F3F "Pussycat"

I'll take the "Felix the Cat" version please For some reason the "Tomcatters" have taken over my naval diecast collection.

I know this squadron flew the F3F-1. Not sure if it flew the F-2 or F-3. If not, you won't see it.

You're right, VF-3 had the -1...darn

Well, if it's a -2 it'll be VF-4. VF-5, VF-6, VMF-1, or VMF-2

If it's a -3 it'll be VF-4, VF-5, or VF-6

Of course the above list does not include training squadrons, is not all inclusive, and I'm sure you could find mixtures of variants across the squadrons at various times.
