Re: F3F "Pussycat"

The solution is glue...I ve been around them all my life and there are perfectly sound solutions which are not hazardous for health, I cannot understand why from Spits HM had a downwards spiral regarding finish and QC in 1/48 scale, as I said before I would not mind paying more to get an accurate model and I am still hoping that I will be able to buy all the liveries but without shortcuts!

Re: F3F "Pussycat"

Are we really getting upset over screws you'll barely see when the thing is parked? If so dont buy it, more for me when I return. Of all the things wrong in this world, this is what upsets folks? They are toys for the love of god.
If you have a better way of building them, open your own shop and show the world. You'd complain if beat with a velvet rope I swear. To say that HM has lost me as a customer, what does that have do in the grand scheme of things?
Sure I don't agree with everything HM does, but I wont back out on them because of it. You either get this F3F or go without, but let us know how the wait for the perfect one works out for you.
Why not buy it and customize it yourself. From what I see it shouldnt be that difficult.
Rant over!

To be honest, I only have the 1/48th scale HM Buffalos and curious as to what this major problem with quality control might be. I have not noticed any major problems with regards to quality problems with these.

Thumbs up Re: F3F "Pussycat"

I think Elmer has a real concern. He is speaking up for what he feels hurts the hobby. I hope HM can try to lessen the need for screw heads. On the other hand,
I like this model and will be getting one or two. The color and details are really cool.
Thanks William and Hobbymaster for making dreams come true. Keep it coming! Go go go HobbyMaster!

Good point and well said! Also if you are a real stickler for detail, you can always go with Accurate Miniatures USA 1/48th scale kit of the F3F-1. Real nice kit and it only goes for $32.99,,,,, plus paint and time, probably alot easier and close to the same price going with the HM version.

Re: F3F "Pussycat"

My vote for 1/48 gold standard is HM's Buffalo. Never seen a finer diecast.

HM folks did a fine job on this one, and I went over it pretty thoroughly to see what I might find in error. It was spot of for scale and they did a great job differentiating between model types. There were a couple of minor errors, but overall it was pretty close to being spot on.

Re: F3F "Pussycat"

I also far prefer visible 'screwheads' to the 'glue/epoxy' alternative mentioned in this thread given the obvious issued associated with glue during assembly ...

In my opinion this is a fine looking model and HM are to be congratulated for their initiative!

Re: F3F "Pussycat"

This is just simply an outstanding model and a cool subject to model the more I think about it! HM has definitely advanced the hobby - they certainly can't be blamed for "cheapening the hobby" because of a few tiny screw heads!

Last chance of drops of glue on the model with screw method. Fine looking model overall.
