Re: some previews

I know, I'm going to be in minority, but F3F is not the plane for me. There are more deserving bi-planes (IN MY OPINION) out there, including I-153 or CR-32. What's worse for me, as it looks like F3F took a place of I-16, which is much dearer to my heart.

F-100 looks good, so I'm in for one.

Regards,

Sergey

Re: some previews

I hope you go with some of the earliest Fighter Squadrons of the USN for markings on the F3F. While not my scale, I'll be after these internet access permitting while away!

See ya all in about 15 months!!

Re: some previews

With all these Century series/Vietnam planes coming out, they need something to shoot down, like a MiG-17!!

Re: some previews

*sob* I'm sworn to stick with 1:72 for fighters -- but the F3F is one of my diecast Holy Grails.

I've resisted HM's excellent F2 Buffalo, but I don't know if I'll be able to pass up the F3F. Oh well, at least it's a petite airplane -- which I'm sure is the rationale behind the 1:48 scale. Let's see, at 23'2" length by 32' wingspan full size, the 1:48 model should be approx. 5.79"x8", or roughly the same size as Corgi's 1:72 Swordfish.

The USMC F3F displayed at the National Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola is an obvious choice, but there are a lot of other cool pre-war liveries too -- like the ones on this page.

Howzabout this one:

Re: some previews

Okay - I'm officially addicted to diecast models and Hobby Master!!! The F3F will be impossible to resist! And the Super Sabre looks great! I don't know how any other company can compete with this!

Re: some previews

Thanks William for the pictures and for Hobby Master's contributions to the hobby. All scales are appreciated, I am glad the F3F is coming in 1/48. I own four Buffalos (soon to be 5 with the Midway version) and the quality and emotional value is astounding.

F3F! where did the I-16 go? and in 1/48! Damn I dont want to go in 1/48...But I do love biplanes. Like Berkut
I would prefer an I-153.
Sigh...
At least it has a pilot.

Guess I'm going to start a 1/48 section in my collection.
