Re: Pics: HM Phantom "Ritchie" HA1901

Well... I had nothing else in mind but a real F-4's intake. So if you had something disturbing in mind, you got no one to blame but you and your disturbed mind.

Wait! Look at that Elmer! Turbine Fans!!

Re: Pics: HM Phantom "Ritchie" HA1901

Ok Pappy, now I really need to see a picture of the model on the wing of a real F-4 with you in the background feeding a
California condor a box of Cracker Jack.

Then, I'll know for sure.

I'm on it, Drew! (though the condor may be a problem....)

But seriously, we're just having a lil' fun with Elmer -- ya likes, what you likes. I will not, however, be making the measurement of intake depths a standard part of my reviews You'll just have to do that yourself and report back to us!

Re: Pics: HM Phantom "Ritchie" HA1901

UPDATE: I had thought a light wash might have been applied to this model as the panel lines, particularly those on the underside, look black to me.. but there was not a wash applied, so that's my goof. Apologies.

Re: Pics: HM Phantom "Ritchie" HA1901

Hmm...just looking at my copy of the model I would swear there IS a wash applied, and it is much better than on earlier HMs, and this is probably how a wash is supposed to look like!
My only complaint about the model is the fact that taifin and stabs are all plastic. I am sure if it was metal it would not render the model tailheavy...maybe it was the cost?!

William stated on the "other forum" that there is no wash applied.

See post 17 -- personally, though I don't think the lighting emphasizes the lines much, if at al... the close up shots, sure. But they are quite noticeable on the model -- it's still a beauty in my book, though.

Yes, there is no washing applied on this. For this F-4's panel lines (indeed all of our aircrafts), we apply the same standard (width and depth) as the A-6 and A-7.
