Re: Pics: HM Phantom "Ritchie" HA1901

Not that it bothers me, but how tight is the gap on the rear canopy hinge? Can we get pics of it closed up? Great review!

I think it's very tight... I'll config it for a flight mode and snap a couple pics tomorrow to show it in that mode.

Nice work on the pics, Pappy. I'll have to review the "no jets" rule I've got going for my collection at the moment.

Wow, I'm drooling over this one as we speak.
I cant wait till I get these bad boys in.

Great pics as always pappy, the first shot looked like a pro built kit not a diecast.
Just from your shots this looks to be the best mass produced representation of the F-4 built thus far, in diecast or plastic of any scale.

Re: Pics: HM Phantom "Ritchie" HA1901

This one looks like a true winner which will defiantly find its way into my Airforce.

I am concerned about what appears to be a sloppy job of applying the coloring to the front of the Phantoms canopy however. Does the blue color really bleed onto other areas other than the cats eye section of the windscreen or is it some weird reflection within the plastic of the canopy section.

Re: Pics: HM Phantom "Ritchie" HA1901

looks like a reflection in the plastic due to the bright lighting or camera flash, you probably wouldn't even notice in person.

Re: Pics: HM Phantom "Ritchie" HA1901

I believe the Ritchie should be in stores very soon.. in the next 2-3 weeks, so early May. And I think the Showtime is another 3-4 weeks out from that, so early June? Hawk?

Hobby Master plans on shipping models on or about the 25th of each month and if this is the case the HA1901 would ship March 25 and add about 3 - 4 weeks to make it to the retailer. But something tells me I received an email awhile back and the shipment was a week late leaving but don't quote me on that.

my concerns are regarding the central part of the canopy looking to thin in the side on profile.this makes the glazed window look odd.
might be nice to have the canopies prepainted with a black undercoat to stop the outer camo showing also the sills would be nice painted black.

I think it's reflection at work, after examining this section more closely after reading your post -- I don't see evidence of bleed. (I don't shoot with flash, though, so it's not light bounce -- again, I just think its reflection at play here.) You've got to really look hard to see it at all.

LOL Dan, I had the same rule -- but rules were made to be broken, right?
