I concur! I don't collect jets, but I love the Phantom II and this is one of the best models of one (either plastic or metal) that I've ever seen. Enjoy!

Re: Pics: HM Phantom "Ritchie" HA1901

Sold! I just placed an order to buy this one thanks Pappy.

And that there Sir is why the Papster gets his birds first!

Thanks for the review. Mine is one of a 5 plane group from a vendor we know so I won't see didly until they all come in.

I know what you mean by the FM 48th scale heft and I will be keeping my Showtime 100.

Leigh-Mallory and his big wings! Might as well stay on the ground for all the use they are!

Re: Pics: HM Phantom "Ritchie" HA1901

Phantastic review Pappy thanks good job!

I doubt HM could have fixed the canopy that fast that crate was on the ocean when we were nitpicking..... I think they deserve more credit for that. Clearly another winner from HM and a home-run for us Phantom Phans. I am guessing I will own at least 5 or 6 F-4's before it is over. Not complaining, but it would be nice to get a crew ladder on one of these versions.

Re: Pics: HM Phantom "Ritchie" HA1901

Thanks Guys, glad you're liking what you see!

BTW: Just discovered that the Witty F-14 stand will hold this model quite well, with the centerline fuel tank installed -- the HM stand requires you to remove this tank, and does not hold the model as high off the ground, which can make it tough to display over parked aircraft to make the most of available space... I keep finding new uses for those witty stands!

Thanks for the pics, Pappy! Any cockpit detail? Any fan detail in the intakes?

Same cockpit detail you'll find in any HM model, basically -- black panels, white outlines for the instruments.... no turbine fans.

Re: Pics: HM Phantom "Ritchie" HA1901

Not that it bothers me, but how tight is the gap on the rear canopy hinge? Can we get pics of it closed up? Great review!

See ya all in about 15 months!!
