Re: How 'bout a Val??

This a good point - when you know what's coming soon in the way of new molds or liveries can spur you to buy other products.

Certainly happened to me before!

Re: How 'bout a Val??

With the SBD, TBF, B5N and SB2C in the pipeline, the only major Pacific war carrier bomber missing from the HM 1/72 collection is the D3A. In my opinion they would be nuts not to make it.

With this quality manufacturer showing a real commitment to the subject in 1/72 scale, I've greatly expanded my Pacific carrier war collection goals. Frankly, the pending Kate release and SB2C announcement has given HM two more TBF sales for my collection.

Don't forget the TBD Devastator! It was used during the most decisive carrier battles during the first few months of the war including "The Battle of the Coral Sea" and "The Battle of Midway".

The Devastator also saw some action prior to The Battle of Coral Sea. They took part in raids on Kwajalein, Jaluit, and Taroa islands in the Marshall and Gilbert atolls. So it did see a bit of action.

Re: How 'bout a Val??

The TBD, SBD, Val and Kate are all in the same generation, all fought hard and deserve to be represented in a comprehensive collection. In time.

Depends on who you ask. But I'll agree to a point.

We need the aggressors for our Allied aircraft models to shoot down!

Don't you want your USN planes to shoot down IJN planes?

Re: How 'bout a Val??

Kate looks great and hope they follow up with the Val. Shoot I would not mind if they put out quite a few more Japanese aircraft. Ki 27, Ki 43, Ki 44, Ki 45, Ki 51, Ki 44, Ki 100, A5M4, P1Y2-S, N1K2-J, J1N1-S, F1M2, and there are quite a few more interesting Japanese aircraft to be made. Not to leave out Italian, German, Russian, Polish, Romanian,,,, the list goes on. HM is doing a great job filling the gaps diecast and l look forward to their future releases (I-16 please).
