Admiral Don Engen's example seen here on the strike on the Zuikaku in which he helped sink the carrier.

Re: Helldiver 1/72 scale in the works

I like this one right here.A Bunkerhill Helldiver.
JP

Oooo, I like that one. All-over dark blue, snazzy yellow nose, big arrow... Something for my Dragon Bunker Hill Corsair to escort!

I hafta say, I like the open dive brakes, too. Guess I'm in the minority on that...

Pair that with the nifty Italian Air Force Helldiver and we'd have a real yellow-nose party...

Nrrrm! Whoosh! Rat-tat-tat!

That one make for a good looking model. Impressive print on that site. I am curious if they will put in option for lowarded turtle deck for the rear gun position or just have the rear canopy open.

The A-25 Shrike would be an interesting variant. Squadron issue on the Helldiver does have and neat looking paint scheme for the Army variant. Not sure, but I do not think that the A-25 ever saw combat and was mainly used in second line activities like trainers and target towing.

Re: Helldiver 1/72 scale in the works

We 1/48 guys are very envious right now, with the Kate, Helldiver and the Beaufighter coming on in 1/72. Ho hum, I'll go re-arrange my 4 Buffalos and reminisce of new release anticipation...

Still keeping my fingers crossed for another HM 1/48th scale release this year.

Yeah, unfortunately they seem to be the only manufacturer left with any heart, drive or spirit... they are feeding 3 scales right now but they're just one company.

Yep, HM seems to be the only diecast company with a pulse right now.
