Re: Helldiver 1/72 scale in the works

More new stuff from Hobby Master. Great to hear they are going to be putting out the Helldiver & Beaufighter. Have to agree with some of the earlier statements with regards to having option of displaying both front and rear canopy in the open position and also like to see the Helldiver sporting its rear armament. Eventual follow up with the Devastor and Vindicator would be something I would like to see.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

Re: Helldiver 1/72 scale in the works

From the site...

Hobby Master has announced it will make a 1/72 scale Helldiver and Beaufighter

I had not heard that a Beaufighter was in the works...

You guys hear that??? Sounds like the last nail in Corgi's coffin is being hammered in.......

Re: Helldiver 1/72 scale in the works

...an' I want it to cook breakfast and file my taxes. Do that and I'll buy two!

No, seriously: How about some liveries with closed dive brakes and some with open brakes, just like the Dauntless? I have the pre-war Dauntless (closed brakes) and the USS Independence Dauntless (open brakes) on order. Nice to have some of each, doncha think?

Nrrrm! Whoosh! Rat-tat-tat!

I know they were a brute of an aircraft in service and generally loathed by all who flew them but I've always like the stubby bird.

That would be a "Beast" of a model Pappy. You could always use it to anchor your boat. I'd buy a couple for sure: a three-tone one and an all blue one.

Still, would be cool -- though probalby entirely impractical. How much bigger would it be than an SBD?

It would be just a bit bigger.

Douglas Dauntless
Length 33ft 1in wing span 41ft 6in 1/32nd scale length 12.41 inches wing span 15.56 inches

Curiss Helldiver
Length 36ft 9in wing span 49ft 9in 1/32nd scale length 13.78 inches wing span 18.66 inches

Just a quick rough hack.
