Re: And the winner is...Hobby Master?

Hey thanks, Cap'! You'll have to get me all caught up on your new purchases. Believe it or not, I bought the very last (or so I thought) Corgi OH-7 B-25 a few weeks back. And I can't believe it---I love the bloody thing!!! Extremely cool, even though somebody smeared ... well, you know ... all over it.

Re: And the winner is...Hobby Master?

Based on my pre-orders so far this year, HobbyMaster and Corgi are about tied. Base on models actually delivered, Corgi isn't even in the running.

Ugly dry spell for Corgi. Last new piece I received was their Wykeham-Barnes Gloster Gladiator.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

Re: And the winner is...Hobby Master?

It seems like only yesterday that we were wondering where to find the money and space for the new releases coming out.

I still hope that Dragon can sort itself out and deliver me that P40 but I will not hold my breath.

I wonder if HM could be persuaded to make one, 1/72 please but I would buy a 1/48,,,,,,,,,,,,,, oh heck, you know me, I would by em all.

BTW welcome return Gort.

God Bless America.

Thanks, Jim. Long time no see—or read—or whatever. Good to be back.

Same here, hope Dragon does follow through with a P-40. Need some more P 40s.

Yep, CW and HM are the two I would be looking to this year. HM for some diverse aircraft other than the Navy birds CW is producing.

Re: And the winner is...Hobby Master?

I've been buying armour of all things. Tanks guys.

I agree wholeheartedly; for those of you that strictly collect aircraft, if you collect armor as well, then you'll never run out of something to buy!! Like Chairman Milo, my armor collection is the same size as my aircraft collection. I have an excellent mix of all scales for both armor and aircraft (better balance in armor than aircraft).

Right now, there are some interesting armor pieces that have been recently released or will be released in the near future.

For example: 21st Century, even though they make plastic, has produced some outstanding 1/32nd self-propelled guns and tank destroyers. They have also released some new aircraft that are quite impressive in 1/32nd as well.

King & Country, one of the resin/crushed stone companies in 1/30th scale, has released a plethera of new vehicles last year and this year and the quality is now outstanding!! Their figs have always been the best in the business!!

Another resin/crushed stone company, Figarti, in 1/32nd scale, has released some new vehicles recently and their quality has always been excellent!!

FOV has produced a few tanks in 1/32nd scale, but they have been concentrating on 1/72nd scale as well.

Tamiya has released a number of beautiful tanks in 1/48th scale lately and HobbyMaster jumped into this scale last year. I feel HM will be releasing some more 1/48th scale armor this year, but I'm still waiting for their first 1/32nd scale tank......

Corgi has re-released a number of their 1/50th scale tanks with accompanying infantry, but I feel that we haven't seen the last of their new molds.

HobbyMaster has released some new 1/72nd armor that looks quite impressive!! Dragon might be leaving the aircraft business, but they released a number of new tanks within the past year or so!!

Admiral Toys moves slower than a 3-toed sloth since they want their 1/72nd tanks to weigh more than Marushin's aircraft!!

So, while most of the diecast aircraft manufacturers have taken a sabbatical, the diecast/resin & crushed stone/plastic armor business is still crankin' away!!

If there are those out there who only collect in one scale, broaden your horizons!! You'll find diecast in other scales that aren't made in the scale that you collect. This will enable you to 'fill that niche'.

OK, I'm done!!

Looking forward to annoying the 'former' Florida Diecast Forum members!!

I have a whole list of schemes that need to be done.

And some pretty slick different nationality paint schemes to work with. I wish someone would put out a decent B or C model of the P-40, lots of potential paint schemes there.

Re: And the winner is...Hobby Master?

All I care about is I want more plane choices then just the same old P-51, P-47, and so on only done in differnet paint schemes. There are alot more planes out there that are worthy of finally being made but for some reason they aren't. So what if they may not be as popular or did not perform well as some of the more well known planes, like for instance the P-39 might not be the most popular plane and did not perform well as hoped but still HM obviously saw it as a plane that had to be done and I believe its doing well on the market. You just have to give these others planes a chance and I bet all will do well on the market because so many of us want them so. So here are my list of planes that I believe are well over due in 1/72 cause I believe that 1/72 is the "Goldilocks scale" cause its not too big and not too small, its just right. And any new plane being made must be done in 1/72 scale first before any other because it would satisfy the majority of customers. Give what the people want! And just in case for any future argument, a B-29 in 1/72 is still smaller than a B-17 in 1/48 and its doing well.

B-29 Superfortress
P-61 Black Widow
P-59 Aircomet
P-63 Kingcobra
A-1 Skyraider
A-20 Havoc
A-26 Invader
F7F Tigercat
SB2C Helldiver
TBD Devastator
PV-1 Ventura
D3A Val
G4M Betty
Ki-45 Nick
Ki-46 Dinah
Me-410
S.25 Sunderland
Short Stirling
Armstrong Whitworth Whitley

1/72 is the MASTER scale!
