| I want models of the Soviet WWII aircraft made not because I care about graceful lines or how well they performed at such and such altitudes, but because they are an extension of incredibly stoic men who gave it all to vanquish the Nazi scourge.
Men like fliers of 4th Guards Fighter Regiment of Baltic Fleet aka the Guardian Angels of the Road of Life and their commander Captain Golubev, who among other achievements shot down two(!) FW-190 flying I-16. Men like Jr. Lt. Kubati Kardanov who rushed his LaGG-3 to rescue Pe-2 recon plane besieged by six Bf-109Gs dispatching one of the attackers and fighting the rest despite being wounded until Pe-2 escaped.
These great men represented what Red Star on the wings was all about, and that's why I want to collect these aircraft.

I'm with you here, brother!!

I like ALL countries aircraft of WW2. I do think it will be a matter of time, however, before Hobby Master will produce its first Soviet aircraft of WW2 (I hope I'm wrong, though!!). My guess is that it will be either a Yak-9 (because of the many variants that were produced) or a La-7 (because of the high ranking Russian aces that flew this aircraft). I do see where HM is going with producing the Kate, Helldiver, Beaufighter, etc. They want to concentrate on the naval aircraft of the Pacific war and throw in some British and German aircraft to keep some of the diecast collectors happy on the other side of the pond!! (not to mention us as well)

I will predict that those of us that like Russian aircraft of WW2 will see one from HM in about a year to a year and a half from now!!
