Re: Corsairs at Willow Grove

I would kill for the one with the blue tail and the eagle. It has got to be the best one yet.

Re: Corsairs at Willow Grove

This thread should move to the Century Wings forum - no?

Probably yes, but if Hobby Master came out with the Corsair at $39 -- $49 CW would be left with a lot of unsold stock

Gorgeous markings !!!!!!!!

Like Louie says ~ that one above is SUPERB = would make for a huge-selling model.

& 'slide is right = better done by Century-Wings though.

Re: Corsairs at Willow Grove

Sorry, all of those are rather fugly. Very uninspiring looking tails.

Looks like (at least) me & Louie disagree with ya, then ?

I wouldn't even hesitate, to buy an A.7 with those "Tail-Feathers"

If I had to choose, this one would be it. Something about the red white and blue tail I guess. Though I have no clue as to who it belongs to.

Ah yes, the Naval Air Development Center A-7. I worked at NADC and this was a research bird. The NADC airfield is only 5 miles or so from Willow Grove NAS. CDR Winston Scott, later astronaut Scott, gained a nickname of "deer slayer" in this plane. We had a big problem with the deer jumping the perimeter fence and taking up residence in a patch woods on the airfield grounds. One time when CDR Scott was landing a deer ran across the runway and was struck buy by the tail hook just as he touched down. Fortunately it didn't upset the A-7. CDR Scott never saw it.
