Re: New Paint Schemes From Hobbymaster

Iraq leased 5 Super Etendards from France in 1983, until Iraqi Mirage F1's became available with Exocets. Only 2 were returned back to France intact. One being confirmed shot down by a Phoenix fired from an Iranian F-14A, Iran claiming a second was also shot down with a Phoenix. A third was badly damaged in a hard landing.

Re: New Paint Schemes From Hobbymaster

Does anyone have any good pics/drawings/profiles of the Super Etendard in Iraqi colors?

Re: New Paint Schemes From Hobbymaster

The Iraqi Super Etendards retained the standard French colours of the time, being slate gray over, white under. The side numbers were 63,64,65,66 and 67 which were in white on the fin.

Thanks, Kiwi. One more question- where were the national markings applied on the aircraft?

Re: New Paint Schemes From Hobbymaster

I do not have a photo at hand, but from memory they had national emblems where the French Navy had theirs, similar to the HobbyMaster Iraqi Mig-21.

French Navy Super Etendards also saw combat over Lebanon.

Re: New Paint Schemes From Hobbymaster

I like the Dassault Mirage 2000EAD (Union des Emirates Arabes, Abu Dhabi) scheme!

Hobby Master wants you to know that the camo scheme for the UAE Mirage 2000EAD isn't the correct paint scheme pattern and it will be corrected on the retail version. The colors are correct it's just the pattern.

It looks good but Hobby Master is going to make it even better by having the more correct pattern. The colors are the same it's just the pattern could be arranged differently.
