Re: New Paint Schemes From Hobbymaster

Speaking of useful information, can someone give me the scoop on this new H.M. tank release :

PzkPfw KW11 754 Panzerkompanie (zbv) 66, Malta invasion force, 1941

I've seen a couple of versions of this by Easy Model, I believe. By golly, this tanks looks a whole lot like a Russian KV-2! So is this the name that the Germans gave a captured KV-2? Or did the krauts happen to develop a tank that looks just like a KV-2? I'm going with version #1, but can someone tell me for sure . .

Sure does look like a captured KV-2 to me.

Ok here ya go. These captured KV-2s were for the planned and never executed invasion of Malta. Because the fortifications on Malta were a serious threat, the heavy armor and large gun of the KV were considered ideal for destroying any fixed positions the British may have on the island. They were probably last used for the final defense of the Reich in and or around Berlin.

Re: New Paint Schemes From Hobbymaster

Very nice. Will most certainly have to pick up the UAE Mirage as well as the snarling A-10. Been waiting for a mouthed A-10...looks like patience is a virtue.

Smile Re: New Paint Schemes From Hobbymaster

That´s what I have realized meanwhile - before, I was thinking that there was an "interchangeable" cockpit section with this mould - a stupid mistake of mine.

Difficult to say now for me which version of the Mirage 2000 I would prefer most - it will depend on which other French jets will appear and which camo schemes they´re gonna have in the future to accomplish the "French shelf". I am hoping for a Mirage F.1 and for a Super Etendard.

I quite share your preference for European subjects, and of course particularly appreciate your support to French products !

Modelling the Mirage 2000 B/D/N would necessitate new tooling, so it's most unlikely to happen.

The F1 would be a wise commercial choice. As for the Super Etendard I don't know. In spite of it's operationnal record, the variety of schemes is quite limited...

I am not so sure your right I cant see a Argentine version selling well in the UK as it will give our Harriers another target to go with the Argentine A4

Interesting bit of history there. Thanks for passing on the information.
