Re: New Paint Schemes From Hobbymaster

muesingman - This wasn't a regularly flown bird? Or you just don't like the nationality? If this is a regular airforce bird, albeit an unusual source, I welcome the addition.

I am just of the opinion that HM (and others) should take priority in doing more "important" planes for us such as F-105 or long-nosed F-4 versions than planes from air forces that clearly play minor roles.

If it has to be another Mirage 2000, then it should be an "N" double seater, French AF and nothing else. No Mirage from Peru, India, Taiwan, or whatever please !! I do not hate those nations, I am just not interested in planes from them. By the way: I am still sick about Witty´s Uzbek SU-27. They should have done a German MiG-29 instead.

I'm pretty sure a Mirage N would require a new mould. And someone was saying that usually companies need to produce 6 schemes to break even or something. Now HM have only got 3-4 schemes out there for the mirage. So by that assumption, they would still need a few other schemes to break even. And besides, so far HM seems to be the dominant in providing exotic schemes which is taking over the market. So far. i think their marketing teams are doing qutie well. And for every 1 that you don't like, another thousand would probably like them. I guess the main point here is that HM is doing well by not adding to an over saturated market of common schemes. And for schemes that everyone would like, well they'd be voiced on forums etc and eventually you may see it come out.

I hear you. I still want a WW2 US Navy SNJ / AT-6, but apparently there is a huge demand for a post war South African one. Whoda thunk it? I guess they have to appeal to several folks from around the world. I'm with you 100% on some long nosed F4 Phantoms, USAF of course.

I do not mind wether USAF or JASDF - as long as there will be an "E", there will also soon be an "F".

I have to admit, from the economical point of view, You´re right. And damn, I forgot that the actual Mirage 2000 mold just allows single seat versions. Ughh... maybe I should practice myself in taking temper...

Y'all go ahead and fight over your little jets. I'm Jonesin' for the Atlantic Avenger, the 2nd B5N Kate from Midway, and the Russian JS-2 tank from 1944. Sweet!

muesingman,
Hey there.

I think you are arguing apples and oranges here unfortunately. Hobby Master picked this mould and this is what we are going to have to deal with. I would think that a two seat version would take a whole new mould?

Personally, I prefer the single seat version and I really like the fact that Hobby Master is willing to go out on a limb with the liveries.

Give it time, I'm sure that we will see plenty more great moulds from Hobby Master that you will love.

Anything for a weird life.

That´s what I have realized meanwhile - before, I was thinking that there was an "interchangeable" cockpit section with this mould - a stupid mistake of mine.

Difficult to say now for me which version of the Mirage 2000 I would prefer most - it will depend on which other French jets will appear and which camo schemes they´re gonna have in the future to accomplish the "French shelf". I am hoping for a Mirage F.1 and for a Super Etendard.
