| Re: Starman's F9F-2 Panther 1:48 scale I got my "Paper Doll" a couple of days ago, and although I still regret HM's decision to go with folding wings, I do like the model very much. In large part, I think it's because I give a lot of credit to HM for daring to do something different, a subject which was sorely lacking representation in the diecast market. Plus it's in the right scale of 1/48, which is a huge factor for me.
Out of the box, mine had some fingerprint smudges on the inside of the windscreen, and for while I worried it was glue. But it washed off easily with a damp Q-tip (thankfully). Still, HM ought to watch quality control.
Overall, a great addition to the collection, but HM missed hitting a clear home run on this one, which they were capable of. I do hope they continue to bring us new subjects in the same vein (and the same scale). And a final note to HM: a pilot would have been nice (but done properly, not dwarves as in the Spit XIV or, apparently, on the 1/32 SBD).
