Re: Starman's 1:32 SBD Is Here

Thanks for the code and history lesson. I have not seen that code before in my color profiles. I like the more definitve German chevron markings. Definitely a
challenge to find that code on any US Navy aircraft or is it? (P.S. George Carlin was born in 1937 so I was not fooled by the initials !!!)

Re: Starman's 1:32 SBD

Well...they are released but the dutch aviationmegastore.com already sent them back due to QC issues. I just received a call from them that, because of this, my order was cancelled.
According to them there are major issues with the cockpit windows (huge gap) and the propellor shaft. Of course it's prossible that the problems are only visible on a limited number of models, but I guess it can't hurt to take a close inspection when you're buying this plane.

Now that you mention it, the prop does look to be slightly angled downward.

Noticed this on the pre pro pics of the second release on Hawks site. Was hoping HM would have that remedied by production time but I guess not . That's a lot of cash to put out for a model with a droopy prop.

Geez, all this time and discussion and they still have problems. HM really needs to get this right. Goes right back to their credibility if they don't.

Look at my updated pics now....The prop was a easy fix for me....There is a pin that holds the prop...there was a little gap in there so i worked out the pin...took some time to do it and then i filed down the pin a little and put it back in there and it fixed the problem.
One thing for sure is that this prop is metal thats why you see it downward like that it's a little heavy.

Looks straight now, could be a case of problem solved. Does look sharp sitting next to your Corsair.
